An eternal blessing
When Martin Luther was holed up at Wartburg castle translating the Bible from Greek into German vernacular, he’s known to have suffered many a creative/existential breakdown (this seemed to have been a common occurrence throughout his life).
He saw this internal strife as the devil himself trying to hamper God’s good work that was happening through him. During these breakdowns, Luther was often known to pace his courtyard while shouting, “I am baptized! I am baptized!”
No, not, “was,” but, “am.”
Present tense...
This baptism is eternal.
Amen.
Grace & Godspeed,
Jonas
