Butchers for God
I recently learned that the chasuble (the big cape worn by priests) was used in ancient times to protect the priest from the blood of the slaughtered sacrificial animals in the temple. It’s essentially an ancient priestly butcher apron.
Jesus came to be the final sacrifice. God coming into human form to sacrifice Godself and end it all.
I pray that the Holy Spirit is moving humanity in a less sacrificial direction. It does seem so.
But we still are a butcherly bunch.
Grace & Godspeed,
Jonas
