It’s helpful to think of prayer more as a download than an upload. 

In Jesus, God shows us that heaven moves downward to earth. When we try to go against this earthward flow, things don’t work well. Our heavenward push usually shows up as religious/moral self-rightness, otherworldly holiness, and toxic purity.
