Don't Look Up
When we think that God lives in only the glorious and grand things, it’s easy to keep our eyes fixed above the surface of our lives and miss so much. It’s easy to worship idols and place our value in meaningless and even hurtful things.
This is why some theologians hold the notion that God’s love flows the other way cascading downwards like water and overlooking nothing. That even the things that our human brains deem the ‘lowest’ are actually where God’s love is the most concentrated.
When I see it this way, I notice something… Even the mundane becomes Christ-soaked. Even the man on the sidewalk rattling change in a Burger King cup becomes the most important thing in the world to this descending God.
On Earth, as it is in heaven.
Grace & Godspeed,
Jonas
