Faith turns us outward in love towards our neighbor(s). The focus is shifted from making YOURSELF right and is repositioned on loving the people and world around you.Â
Yes, this can seem like a lot of work, a life focused on serving your neighbor... But with Christian freedom, it doesn’t feel like work.Â
Because it’s not a law.
It’s not a ‘must’.
It’s an invitation.
An authentic expression of our gratitude for God’s love for the world.Â
Our work is done joyfully. We’re not worried about what’s in it for us. We’re not wondering if God approves of our work for the neighbor. Thankfully, God’s love and approval do not rest on our feeble shoulders. God IS love. God’s love is unceasing. Even - especially - in the midst of our brokenness, messiness, and Sin.Â
We don’t serve the neighbor in order to GET God’s love.
We do it as a RESULT of God’s love.
This is when law turns to love.
I'm still a work in progress....
Love the idea of an invitation from God.
