Alex got back last weekend from an epic trip to Sicily with her sister to visit their ancestral hometown. They wanted to be able to do it and talk to their grandmother about it while she’s still alive and well. While Alex was there, we were talking on the phone and she was like, “Hang on, let me send you this picture, let’s see here, okay, there… Did you get it.”
Zap.
Within a second, the photo appeared on my screen.
I thought nothing of it at the time and we finished our conversation like no biggie. But then, after we hung up, it struck me…
Holy warp speed, Batman!
How miraculous is the thing that just happened? A photo zapped to me in a split second - wirelessly - from the other side of the planet?! And I’m like, meh… No biggie.
Our technology is insane right now. And this meager example - texting a photo - is one of the most basic technological feats I can mention.
I hope you have grace for yourself in this technological moment. It’s miraculous. But also, this exponential acceleration of life is too much. All of our hair is on fire and we don’t even know it because we take it for granted as life as it is.
God, have mercy. Wow…

Absolutely true!
Ayup -- taking technology for granted! Great reminder. Too much of a good thing becomes not a good thing...how many times do we fall into the rabbit holes of technology where we fritter away precious time?!? Oh. Lord, may I learn to curb, monitor & moderate the blessings of technology!
