Due to ample goings-on in my world this week (all good goings-on, I assure you), I didn’t get around to an audio reflection for the lectionary passage like I have been recently. However, I DID write a text study on the Gospel passage for this fine Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost for my dear friends at Crossings.org. Click the brown button below to read it.
It’s kind of a meatier piece, so I’ll just leave you with that. It’s meant for people preaching this weekend, but even if you’re not, methinks you may very well get a good word out of it. Without further ado, here it is. It’s called ‘Identified With Jesus’ and it’s based on Matthew 16:13-20 - the one where Jesus renames Simon ‘Peter’ (the full passage is included in the article, so no need to look it up separately). I hope to be back next week with my normal whimsical ramblings. Until then…
Grace + Godspeed,
Jonas
Very, very powerful.
