This is a quick note to let you know that I’ll be taking a Lenten pause - if you will - from the daily blog. I believe that creativity moves in seasons, and Lent is a fantastic time to withdraw a bit and examine our inner landscape. My spiritual creative practice will be to write daily-ish, albeit privately, not publicly. To take to the pages of my trusty journal rather than the blog.
I may chime in occasionally, and I’ll continue to post my sermons in the sermon podcast here. But other than that, I’ll be going silent for 40 days or so. Thanks for being on the other side of these transmissions. I hope I come out of Lent with a renewed focus here. And I pray that your Lenten journey is fruitful and takes you deeper into the Mystery of Christ as well.
In Joy,
Jonas+
With you in spirit and prayer. Go well in these Lenten days.
It is interesting to note that the word Lenten is derived from an old Germanic / Dutch word Lente, which means Springtime, and is the same word in my home language Afrikaans.
But... because I live in the Southern hemisphere it will soon be Autumn / Fall here, a welcome respite from a very hot Summer. 1 September will be "Lentedag" for us.
Have a blessed Lenten time! 🙏🙌
