Mission impossible?

The mission of the church is simple… 

To help exhausted people find freedom and joy in God’s inexhaustible grace.

That’s it. 

Anything beyond this is overreaching.
Anything short of this is a disservice.

Turns out, this simple mission is also nearly an impossible one to get right.

But it’s all there. God’s eternal Word made flesh in Jesus is right there on the pages and right here in the fiber of our being.

All we have to do is trust it. This, it seems, is the hard part.

I do think it’s worth trying, though.
