When we follow the words of St. Paul and “forget everything except Jesus Christ, and him crucified,” as morbid as it seems, we hold up death and not life as the catalyst of salvation. It’s the only kind of foolish wisdom that has the power to deal with the desperate case of the human experience. It is Jesus, the Person of the Incarnate Word, who works through death - the root of every created thing.
