Not good enough

Sin is not just poor moral choice. It’s what the poor moral choices (lowercase-s sins) stem from. Sin is the lack of trust out of fear and woundedness. Out of this lack of trust, the heart hardens, and the valve of life is closed shut. 

To really boil it down, Sin is simply the lack of joy in God and creation. It’s when we fall into the illusion that God sucks at Her job and creation isn’t good enough for us. 

Sin is Ebenezer Scrooge before the ghosts come and bury him in his grave.
