I like you is sometimes stronger than I love you.
You can love someone and not like them very much. A likeness is more loving than love in some ways.
I tell my daughter I love her a lot. It’s kind of a default thing you do as a parent.
It’s not that I don’t mean it or anything. I surely do.
But I try, as many times as I can remember, to tell her that I like her. Because it’s true. I like her. And I’m blessed to be able to say that.
If we look at likeness from a divine perspective, things get a little foggy, though…
Being loved by God is nice. I can nod my head yes at that. I’ve heard over and over again that God is love, yadda, yadda, yadda…
But being liked by God?
Hmmm…
Seems kind of unbelievable, doesn’t it?
However, it is written…
When God created humankind, God made us in the likeness of God.
Does this mean that we’re “like” God?
(I sure hope not.)
Or does it mean that God likes us?
I’ll have to take that one on faith.
Grace & Godspeed,
Jonas
I like you Jonas.
Thanks, Jonas I know what you mean. g
