I just watched a squirrel run up a tree. It struck me how perfectly the little furry creature’s coat matched the bark. To a tee. I couldn’t match the chipped paint on my window trim as perfectly as God matched that little fluffy fella and that tree.
It’s miraculous how intelligent God’s design is; to camouflage this squirrel so as to sustain its little acorn-munching life.
And then it dawned on me: wait…
Squirrels die all the time.
They get eaten by things quite a bit.
So, yeah, God, I'm not sure if you noticed this design flaw… But maybe if you had put some more thought into it and made it a little more perfect, this tragedy wouldn’t have happened. No squirrel should have to suffer and meet its demise. Why did you ship this flawed product if it was doomed from the start?
Wait a second…
Maybe my version of ‘doomed’ is far different from God’s.
And maybe my version of ‘life’ is far different than God’s.
And maybe….
SQUIRREL!!!
