The death of our godhood
The way of Christ leads to the death of our godhood.
It is the path that relinquishes us of the false notion that we are the gods of the world. It takes away our illusory ‘rightness’ that leads to so much misery. It gives us…
Trust.
Trust that God/Life knows what God/Life is doing.
It shows us how crucial to life our interdependence is.
The love of Christ is like a spiritual Heimlich maneuver
that compels us to spit out the fruit
from the tree of knowledge of good and evil
and gives the rule of the world back to God/Life itself.
“Ahhh, God,” we say…
”I trust you.”
This is a faith that our meager brains are terrified of.
It is a faith that we can only trust-fall back into.
It is the only thing that can save us
from destroying ourselves and the world.
It is the one thing that will give us the verve
to drop our failing attempt to rule the world
and reinstate in us our holy position
of being the first hospitable stewards
of all creation.
