Times like these remind me...

That we’re all one in our fragile human state. We are all susceptible to pathogens that can harm and kill us. That can cripple our economies and make daily life extraordinarily difficult. 

To these things, we are all vulnerable.

It’s in these universally leveling times that I pray that we recognize our commonality. As messy and unfortunate as it is, may times like these help us lay down the things that don’t matter and focus on the things that do.

May we look to our neighbor in these times knowing that neither one of us can escape the fact that, at its core level, human life is extremely delicate.

May God make something new with us in the midst of it all.
As only God can.
