Right now, we have to hold fast to the spiritual reality that our knowing eyes can’t see God’s renewing, redeeming, and sanctifying activity in the midst of tumult.
We can only see what God DID. It’s really hard to see what God is doing as God’s doing it.
If I rely on my own eyes and my own ‘better senses’, most of what I see (beyond the glimmers of beauty and hope) is desperation and hopelessness. I have to put one foot in front of the other knowing that God’s work is happening right now and won’t be revealed to my feeble human eyes until later.
In hindsight, what we’re going through now will look much different. May we hold fast to faith knowing that we are sustained through this life, death, and resurrection.
Amen.
Grace & Godspeed,
Jonas
I trust His will and walk in faith remarking on all that is gorgeous & beautiful within my life. I trust that I will be where I am supposed to be. I go within to listen, trust, and live by faith.
Really helpful reflection I am a Church Of England minister in Lincolnshire who spent some time at seminary in Sewanee. God Bless. Sue
