It’s easy to think about humility as a defeated posture. Slumping shoulders. Face turned to the ground. Spine softened.
To have humility seems like we need to keep quiet and blend in with everyone else. To not cause a stir.
But this is not humility. I’ve been there, but I’m not sure what it is. (Depression?)
Humility also isn’t a surface-level individuality begging for attention in opposition to others.
True humility is deeper and more anchored. It is to rest in the divine fingerprint that is you and no one else.
Authentic humility is to settle into exactly who God made you to be. Since God doesn’t make anyone/thing the same as anyone/thing else, to have humility is to be uniquely you - warts, scars, and all. To be someone you’re not is to say that you know better than God who you are.
In this sense, humility - to be who God made you to be - is a heroic deed.
God can’t wait to see you settle into... You.
rest in the divine fingerprint that is you and no one else. (yummy)
Maybe what we think is wrong with ourselves is really what's right with ourselves
Jonas, I see the description you gave at the beginning as that of a sense of worthlessness. I have recently received insights regarding humility that negate extreme self pride at the ego level but great pride of Self worth at the soul level... from the flaws and foibles of the human personality to the aspects of divinity as the soul that is our true being... Perhaps just a little different view, but not negating yours!
