So much content that we come across today has (very) short expiration dates.
Current events are so titillating to the ego.
It’s all about urgency.
What’s happening now?
React, react, react.
Fire! Squirrel!
I've caught some flack for not opining on the latest, most triggering social trends. But I’ve always had a longing for things that are evergreen. It’s been one of my strictest editorial guidelines since I started blogging. Though it may have cost me some (a lot of?) popularity and virality, I wouldn’t change a thing.
The ideas, concepts, and stories that I care to spend my time on have a very long (eternal, even?) shelf life.
If you’re feeling stressed out by current events,
maybe focus on the evergreen.
You might have to dig a bit to find it,
but as far as I’m concerned,
it’s well worth the effort.
As Ever,
Jonas
The incessant encounter with a harsh and intolerant world lays far behind... Now, near 77, is 'my' "evergreen" a longtime daily contemplation: contemplating the illusion of separateness from a Non-numerical-singularity! let purity's love to itself transcendent within 'me' 'my' pride, 'my' self-centeredness, 'my' selfishness, 'my' inside fights for principles, and establish 'my' last desire in this letterworld with its infinite narratives.
It's one of the reasons I'm hanging out in the evergreen state. We go for that which is eternal with the realization of what we are seeking is within us already. Yep, we gotta dig a bit to find it, but once we do, it can never be taken away. Love to you brother Jonas.
