As of the morning of last Saturday, October 14th, according to apostolic usage, I have been - and I quote - “Entrusted with the Office of Word and Sacrament in the one holy catholic church by the laying on of hands and by prayer.”
Congratulations, Jonas. I remember your Higher Thoughts days on Medium. So where you are today doesn’t surprise me, and I’m glad to have followed along and shared your journey via this weird digital world. Speaking of the world, we need holy people. We need to see beyond our petty differences, shallow digital distractions, and broken selves. We need to create a better world, and those who pursue a clerical life help point us to God. To our better selves. Our salvation. So, again, congratulations, Godspeed, and sometime when I’m next in Santa Cruz County, perhaps I’ll track you down and shake your hand. Well done, Jonas, well done.
5 - 6 years? Good heavens Jonas, is that how long I've been following you? I remember those early days when you were writing daily blogs. I loved those. And then when you were searching for a church to call home. As a Catholic, I of course hoped that's where you would return.
But the Lutherans snagged you and it's a beautiful thing. I know you will be a wonderful priest including the pastor bit.
My prayers go with you and your family. BTW Rory is all grownup and beautiful!
I am so very proud of you, as I would be of my own son. I've been praying for you ever since you were getting into the spiritualistic and still looking and yearning to find God's purpose for you (even if you didn't know that at the time). And I will continue to pray for your own special outreach to the world.
Jonas! I’ve been reading your stuff for a few years and I cannot get stress cannot believe you’ve been assigned to my city. Wow. I’ve been out of a church family since 2020 and was initially excited you moved to my state. I looked up this church over the summer feeling like it was time to jump back in. When do you start? I’m getting myself there asap. ❤️☺️God works in really crazy ways!
It was a sacred day. Deeply sacred. Set apart and holy. All creation celebrated: Waters on the bay glistening, sun filtering through the trees and the love and respect and awe of folks who have walked with you on this journey filling the Sanctuary. You were ordained as Priest, but God laid it on your heart ages ago, "having watched your bones take shape." The Kingdom of God rejoices!
Congratulations and blessings, Jonas!! Yet another chapter in your (our) life that I look forward to following. It has been a wild and wonderful ride and I am so happy you have found and will live in your passion. I hope you are able to continue writing, so those of us not able to be there in person can benefit from your loving and wise words. All the best!

That was a beautiful comment John. I believe young holy men like Jonas can bring this new generation to our Lord.
I pray soon Peace will expand through a guided journey of praying without ceasing by Priests such as Jonas.
Jonas is a God send to us. I’m thankful when disciple’s are put in my way.
And yes it was “Higher Thoughts” that allowed me to witness Jonas.
